Struggle Jennings was destined to be an Outlaw. Contrary to what you'd expect of the grandson of country icons Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter, he spent his formative years in the West Nashville neighborhood, now known as the Nations; the man of the house, after losing his father to a senseless act of violence. From hopping on the tour bus with his grandparents, to being back home in the Nations with his mother, he developed a love for both the gangster rap of the '80s and '90s that he heard in the streets and the outlaw country that ran in his veins. Genres that are seemingly worlds apart, yet stem from the same place once you scratch the surface. These days Struggle is back to his roots in country music, but as he says in his song, "Twisted," (off his upcoming album El Camino, due out 5/31), "might've changed my ways but I never switched up..." He's staying true to who he is and stepping into the next chapter.
Looking for a good time and good vibes? Meet The Lacs. They're a country rap duo based in Baxley, GA. Started by Clay Sharpe and Brian King over a decade ago, they combined the styles of country, southern rock, rap and blues to form their own unique style and sound.
This Florida rapper, singer and producer shares real American stories that don't make the news - from candlelit Section 8 life without power to hustling pills and breaking and entering just to pay the bills. Spinning this narrative through a combination of airtight rhymes and woozy melodies, he immediately captivates. "Some areas are hood, and others are country," he explains.
Kyle Ziminsky started rapping at the early age of 14 years old. In 2010 he dropped his first radio single “See Through Walls” under his rap name Cals. The song did well independently and he gained the attention of some legends in the game and was able to collaborate with quite a few such as NORE, Styles P, Too Short, and YG. In 2020 he decided to stop rapping and get sober after many years of drug and alcohol abuse. 3 years later he decided to give music another shot. After moving to Florida and adopting the country lifestyle, his music reflects the hard working blue collar grit and southern flavor while still staying true to his roots.
